ABOUT THE PROGRAM

PTG is excited to support Mercedes-Benz dealerships in their fulfillment of MBUSA’s Digital Leadership Qualifiers program and the Digital Facility Element (DFE) qualifier. This microsite is intended to support your ability to order the necessary required equipment.

DFE is designed to bring a premier digital brand experience into each dealership to inspire, engage and inform customers with the latest Mercedes-Benz content. The minimum requirements for fulfillment of the Digital Facility Bonus Program will require dealerships to add enhanced digital elements to their facilities. This includes utilizing and acquiring digital technology with consistent internet connectivity.

Below MBUSA has summarized some key aspects of the DFE program. These are not exhaustive details of all program elements and dealers should ensure they have read and fully comprehend the detailed Digital Leadership Qualifiers requirements that MBUSA has published in the Brand & Technology Standards guidebook.

Beginning January 2024, the minimum requirements for fulfillment of the Digital Facility Bonus Program will require dealerships to add enhanced digital elements to their facilities. This includes utilizing and acquiring digital technology with consistent internet connectivity.

Dealerships will be required to have at least one wall mounted interactive touchscreen monitor installed and prominently displayed. All customer facing dealership screens utilized for marketing content will now run MBUSA approved content using the BrightSign® media player, available through PTG.

INTERACTIVE TOUCHSCREEN

  • Dealer must install at least one wall mounted, interactive touchscreen monitor(s) that is prominently displayed at the dealership for customer use and engagement.
  • Dealership must select from one of three Planar touchscreen monitors. Sizes include 55”, 65” or 75.”
  • Install an articulating Wall Mount, which will allow for tilt-and-swivel movement.
  • Use an up-to-date media player to publish content to touchscreen monitors. Seneca Intel® Celeron® Media Players are the approved media players for use with digital signage.
  • Install PC using a PC wall mount.

NON-TOUCH SCREENS

  • Media Displays: All customer facing media screens that are used to display promotional marketing content must run MBUSA approved content using a BrightSign® media player procured through MBUSA’s approved vendor. Dealerships must have, at minimum, one (1) such screen placed in the Sales Showroom and one (1) in the customer-facing Service Area.
  • If a dealership has less than two customer facing marketing screens currently, a minimum of two (2) must be acquired with one placed in the Sales showroom and one in the customer facing Service area.
  • Dealership may leverage an existing screen with minimum size of 55”, with no size greater than 75”.
  • If dealership does not have existing screens, screens may be purchased through preferred vendor partner.
  • Dealer may select screen size of their choice, as long as it meets minimum size requirements.

DEALERSHIP PLACEMENT

Placement of touchscreens should be in a visible area to encourage patron usage. Areas may include welcome area or service lobby.

Sales Screen Placement        

  • Screen should be placed in the main dealership facility new car showroom with prominent visibility. Cannot be placed in a salesperson's office
  • Screens should be hardwired with internet connectivity

Service Screen Placement    

  • Recommended placement in the main dealership facility within the main service waiting or dealership lounge.
  • Placement in the service reception area is acceptable
  • Hanging placement above the service drive is NOT allowed, however permanent mounting of large format screens on a solid, highly customer visible wall adjacent to the service drive is acceptable.

Other areas 

  • Placement within the accessories boutique, café, or other customer waiting areas are acceptable so long as they are in addition to the areas specified above.
  • Placement in the delivery area is acceptable so long as they are in addition to the areas specified above.

✓ Screens should be visible to dealership guests, not hidden.

✓ Installation should be seamless and blend with existing design elements.

INSTALLATION

  • Dealer will assume responsibility for all installation costs, including initial project installation, coordinator and supplies.
  • Dealer must use MB-approved vendor, ProMotion Technology Group (PTG), to purchase touchscreens, associated materials and installation services. The products and services offered by the vendor are compliant with requirements.

CONTENT

  • MBUSA will supply pre-approved, Mercedes-Benz branded digital content and playlists.
  • Content will focus on key areas, including Sales, After-Sales, Mercedes-Benz Electric, Top-End Vehicles, CPO and ICE vehicles.
  • Content provided by Mercedes-Benz marketing will be frequently updated and rotated on a four-to-six-week cadence.
  • Dealer can use approved tablet to switch screens to meet the needs of their location. Please inquire with vendor.
